A friend showed me this place, and It quickly became tradition after surfing New Smyrna! Something about an old school place, and the simplicity of hot dogs and ice cream. I always get the chili slaw dog. I sometimes crave them throughout the week, they're so good! Service has always been great from the year that I've been coming. My friend has been coming here since he was a kid, and never had any issues with the service. My only negative is it seems like every business in NSB doesn't post regular hours anywhere. But if I was a business owner, neither would I because the sun and surf would dictate that. All in all, a must to check out. Make sure to bring cash, or you'll have to pay the high fees at their ATM!

This is a family tradition after a day on the beach. I especially love their Moose Tracks! Air-conditioned eat-in restaurant and outdoor tables and benches available in the shade.

Love this place! Frozen Gold has been a beach day staple for me for at least the last 15 years. During the summer they are always packed, but they move quickly to get everyone through the line. I love their home made peanut butter milk shakes. I always get a medium and by the time I'm done wish I would have gotten a large. Very reasonable prices. They also have soft serve - hand dipped shells, and specialty flavors including sugar free options. The only down side is they are cash only, but they recently added an ATM so that helps. Definitely a must if you are in NSB.

Wow I always come here and it just gets better every time . This time I got the rainbow Sherbert and it was delish. My sister got a blue raspberry dipped cone and she loved this. It is a great pit stop on the way there or from. Kids will love the exciting flavors

We always stop here on our way back from the beach. We have been coming for years and hope our kids will bring their kids when they grow up. The dipped soft serve is our favorite, but the homemade chocolate chip cookie sandwich is a real close 2nd.

Delish! The perfect place to stop on the way back to Orlando from a day or weekend at the beach. Who doesn't love some ice cream?

Yum, must stop while you are coming back from New Smyrna Beach, it's required. They have some good soft serve but are cash only. You can also get a small pup cup to go when you have the pups in tow from the puppy beach. It's usually pretty packed when it's rush hour but they serve somewhat quickly.

I agree with Annabelle S. I believe the popularity of this place is routed in familiarity. It's not a bad place to get your ice cream fix after a trip to New Smyrna Beach but it is just "Meh". After we got our ice cream we watched the line grow, and grow, and grow until it was 30 people deep both inside and outside. And cash only?? This place is definitely "frozen gold" for its owners!! They had a small selection of ice cream flavors- pretty standard ones like mint chocolate chip, rainbow sorbet, cookie dough, and moose tracks. You can get a waffle, cake cone or cup with a handful of toppings. Very basic stuff. They have soft serve too. I wasn't overly impressed. The young girls working weren't especially friendly. The inside was a drab white with randomly hung framed photographs. There are plenty of other ice cream places around, I'll try one of them next time.

Frozen Gold is an NSB tradition. You spend the day at the beach and then hit Frozen Gold up for ice cream. I think they used to serve hot dogs too, but it's been a long time since I've been here. Just one of the places that will always remind me of growing up in NSB.

Sometimes I get some freaky primal urge for sand and salt water. And with the recent turn of the weather last weekend, I just HAD to go to the beach. Which means I just HAD to stop at Frozen Gold on my way home. Straight up, their homemade Peanut Butter Frozen Yogurt is freaky delicious. Peanut Buttery and creamy goodness. The only problem I've ever had at Frozen Gold is having to wait in line. But considering I got a big bowl frozen yumminess (plus my preferred topping: M&Ms) for under $3, it's the perfect treat after a perfect morning at the beach.

This cash only establishment is a must hit up beach tradition to me. Is it the best fro-yo in the world? Maybe not but the awesomeness of a mom and pop ice cream shop after a long day at the beach with pretty good ice cream keeps me going back for more. I always get a swirl cone so I don't really know how anything else tastes but they have a wide variety of frozen treats that will cool you down after a hot day in the sun. Be prepared to wait because the lines do get long but the staff moves pretty quickly.

My husband grew up going to Frozen Gold while making beach trips-but me- I don't love it so much. The lines are always long, the cleanliness facor isn't the best and I've had instances where the ice cream's tasted old and had those little frozen crystals in it. bleeeugh. That said- it's one of those places that I just can't seem to avoid so I always hope that each new experience is better. If I've got the choice give me Haagen-Dazs or Rodeo whip in DeLand.

No trip to the beach is complete without Frozen Gold. Great selection, super service, just a great local treat. their soft serve is my favorite, but they have everything from hard scoop to italian ice and gelati. And remember, cash only!

A trip to New Smyrna Beach is not complete without stopping here. This is thee best way to cool off when you've gotten way too much sun. They've got soft serve, hard scoop and homemade frozen yogurt. Toppings galore. They lose a star because they seem to always be in the midst of remodeling which means they may or may not let you inside (they've got walkup windows too). Also lose a star because the 'cyclone' (same as DQ blizzard) is not really all that good, and the peanut butter cups tasted old. Love that Frozen Gold!
